Summary:
Located on an 84 acre farm nestled in the heart of the Shawangunk Mountains. This campsite is nestled in a very private spot surrounded by trees, corn fields and has the most beautiful mountain views with spectacular sunsets. Stroll down to the river for fishing, swimming or find a rock to sunbath on. Hike trails on the property and walk next door to our neighbors winery that offers live music, bbq's and other fun festivities. Take a seven minute drive to our town that offers a farm market on Saturdays in the Spring, Summer and Fall, family owned shops such as a health food store, home goods store, consignment shop and a used book store. Enjoy a variety of dining experiences from sushi, vegetarian, Italian, American and Mexican fare and find convenience with True Value Hardware, Tractor Supply and Hannafords Supermarket and other chain conveniences such as MacDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Subway and a car wash. We are approximately a 20-30 minute drive to other trendy communities like New Paltz, Montgomery and Gardiner, NY that offer fine dining, wineries, hiking and biking trails, sky diving, state parks with lakes and waterfalls. Visit the famous ice cave and cliffs in charming Cragsmoor, New York, which is located just 15 minutes away. Enjoy music venues at Bethel Woods and gambling casinos in Monticello. All that said, there is really no need to go anywhere because everything you'll want to enjoy this unique camping experience outdoors you will find right here along the Shawangunk Kill. Enjoy this tranquil and peaceful spot with a little beach access to the water. Light a fire, cook on the fire pit, take a hike, swim, sunbath, fish and star gaze as you fall asleep to the sounds of nature. We have a sister site that is located right on the river.
The Space:
Watch the most beautiful sunsets in the Hudson Valley!
Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!
Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.
Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party.
Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent.
Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.
Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.
What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling
-Bedding and pillows
Other Things to Note:
Always use caution because you are amongst wildlife. Do not trespass the property across the river or venture onto any property that borders our property lines. It is a good idea to wear water shoes in the river to protect your feet from sharp rocks and driftwood. Bring your own sheets, pillows, blankets/sleeping bags, food, drinks and other essentials you may need like extra layers, sunscreen, bug repellent, sunglasses and hats. We supply water and your first load of firewood. We also provide lanterns and lights/with headbands so you can find your way around at night. You may bring your dogs, but please be respectful of our property and pick up after them. One night stays will be considered on case by case basis depending on preexisting reservations - don't hesitate to ask. Please inquire if you are looking for accommodations for a larger group! We have a sister site on the same property but still private, that would be great to rent at the same time if you're looking for two platform tents. Enjoy the seclusion of this tranquil and peaceful spot. Light a fire, cook on the fire pit, take a hike, swim, sunbath and fish in the river. Enjoy some of the extras and book a morning meditation guided by Eileen Downes or book a two hour swim in Eileen's beautiful built-in salt water pool (per availability), and purchase extra firewood (See extras).
Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.
If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf. Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at hello@tentrr.com.
