We love how the backyard opens directly to a small forest that you can explore and hike around in as well as the proximity to shops, restaurants, hiking, and kayaking in the Delaware River. Recently placed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Vernooy-Bevier home and farmstead is a true rarity. Sitting in the middle of almost 9 bucolic acres is one of the oldest homes in the NY State. Countless hours of historical research has dated the house between 1690-1710. It is only one of two homes in Wawarsing to survive the Revolutionary war. This uniquely intact home and landscape represents hundreds of years of farming and homesteading. The Old Stone home has been well cared for over it's long history and is a cozy and inviting space. Two enormous fireplaces (not functional) grace the living and kitchen areas and period details are evident throughout. Welcome to our beloved Catskill Mountain home. This midcentury home was built on the land of a previous dairy farm. We purchased this home during the COVID-19 pandemic and began updating it to create an oasis for our Brooklyn family. We have 27 acres that includes private trails, a swimming pond with a beach, a playground, a fire pit, a deck, and an outdoor grill. Our home boasts 4 oversized bedrooms and 3.5 updated bathrooms. Two of our bedrooms have desks which are perfect for working/learning remotely. Our kitchen includes a new refrigerator, stovetop, and dishwasher. Our basement is an amazing setting for Apres Ski, a cozy family movie night, or a small group gathering; it is equipped with a restored vintage pool table, a wet bar, and a big screen TV. We border NYS property and can walk to local hiking trails. We are a 15 minute drive to Belleayre Mountain for skiing in the winter and beach/boating in the summer. It is a 7 minute drive from our home to the Village of Margaretville where you can pick up groceries, shop local, and dine. We are close to the Pepacton Reservoir which is great for boating and fishing. We have a security system in the home. Each renter will receive a unique access code to enter the home with the door lock and use the alarm system while they rent the home. Less than 1.5 hours from the GW bridge. "Charm" is a fraught word in real estate-speak, but I'll just say that I fell in love with this house the moment I set foot inside, and I hope you do too. The wood-walled interior includes a book-lined living room w fireplace, 3 bedrooms (2 queen & 1 full), one full bath with a shower and claw-foot tub, and an ensuite half-bath. Our 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom home is complete with an open floorplan on the main level, and an additional games and cinema room dedicated to entertainment and making memories. Beds ranging from King to Twin will ensure our home can fit your parties needs. This cape cod home was recently renovated, so you can rest assured knowing you booking a modern home. This is brand new to the rental market! So be the first to sleep in the sheets and utilize all appliances/furniture/activities straight out the box! The home has three levels, complete with a lower level designed for entertaining. On the main level, we have an open living/dining/kitchen floor plan fit with a bar (wine glasses, cocktail tools and accessories), games, and fireplace. Use Amazon Alexa to help you in the kitchen, or to connect your music and set the mood for your meal! 2 TV's are in the home - both smart with access to Netflix and whichever other apps you would like to login and use. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything and anything you need to feel right at home and cook up a storm. We have all the basics you would expect (place settings for 8, utensils, pots pans etc). We are pet friendly, and provide some water and food bowels for your furry family member so you don’t have to pack any! We have 4 ski mountains near the home. We are under 10 minutes drive away from Plattekill Mountain, and under 20 minutes away from Belleayre mountain. You can also ski Hunter and Windham which are about 40 minutes drive from the home - during covid they are only allowing pre-booked visitors and the passes sell out. So be sure to book your ski lift well in advance!
